About Us

Mary Ann is a Licensed Professional Counselor and lead Clinician at Healing Journeys.  She graduated from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona in 2015 with her Masters of Science degree.  She has worked with the Harrisonburg Rockingham Community Services Board in mental health and substance abuse services since obtaining her Certified Substance Abuse Counselor in 1991 and nationally certified in 1993.  She has worked with intensive outpatient programs, individual and group therapy as well as working closely with community groups in speaking and facilitating roles.  She further has experience in pastoral services and counseling as well as supporting families and children of those with substance use disorders.  Mary Ann is trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trust based relational interventions, relapse prevention and solution focused therapies.  Mary Ann operates under the firm belief that it is important to start where you are and that change is always possible.

Cassey has been an RN for 20 years, working in emergency medicine, intensive care, pediatrics, and case management.  Specialties include neurological and mental health diagnoses, pediatrics and special needs as well as opportunities to facilitate health and healing.  Before becoming an RN, Cassey worked with substance use disorders and mental health clients.  She is a certified case manager and a Qualified Mental Health Professional. Cassey is currently attending school to complete her Masters and assists with billing and technological components of the business at present. 

Clayton has been a massage therapist since 2016 specializing in therapeutic massage to aid in mobility, pain control, and trauma recovery.  Clayton uses craniosacral techniques,  muscular release  and pressure points as well as deep tissue and stretching techniques to facilitate healing and mobility for his clients.  Clayton is using traditional massage techniques to facilitate healing from traumatic events, pain and anxiety, depression and decreased quality of life.  Our goal is to return you to your optimal level of functioning - mentally and physically.
